Troopadour

I am pretty tired. Turns out seven days of full on travelling and gigging takes it out of you, who knew? In the main, I had a great time and I feel I've improved, the new songs were really well received and I met some lovely people. I've been keeping a tour diary which I need to type up this afternoon and then hopefully I'll get it online in the next couple of days. I only had one really bad experience, which was on the last night, and kind of soured the whole week a little but I'm trying to get over it. All details of the various ways in which I succeeded and failed will be in this little journal I've made. Needs some editing though as some of it makes little to no sense and transcribing it might take some time looking at it as 95% of it is illegable scribbles.

This photo is from my trip to Southsea where I played at the Hong Kong Gardens Club night which was great. Many thanks to Abbie and Sarah for that one. The London gig was the best sound I've probably ever had and a really well run night with good bands and a good promoter. Nottingham was a great night out but I ought not to get battered on the first night quite so often beacuse it does mean I'm hungover for the rest of the tour seemingly! Leeds too was a messy but enjoyable evening and morning where I didn't get to bed till 6.35am. Hmmm...fun. Sheffield was a fairly dour 'venue' but it was alright none the less and I got to hang out with some friends and feel civilised for once when we went for a curry which I guess says something about my week that being drunk and having a curry up Eccy Road is viewed as high brow by the standards set over the course of the tour! Bring on the next one, after some sleep...

Indietracks!

Yes, I have been confirmed for Indietracks Festival in Derbyshire on the 25th July. This is great, great news and I'm really excited. The headliners are Emmy the Great and Camera Obscura amongst other wonderful acts. In addition to playing the festival I've also submitted a track for their own compilation CD which will be available from Rough Trade (UK), Norman Records (UK), Vollwert Records (Germany), Apple Crumble (Japan), Fraction Discs (Sweden) Indiepages (USA) Woo! More news on that as and when they're on sale.
I'm off on tour in the next couple of weeks too so please come out to any of the shows near you, or one's miles out of your way for that matter. I'm going to be taking the nylon string guitar I've been recording with recently and it's sounding great and not removing all the skin from my fingers like the steel string acoustic I've got. Anyway, a toast to me and Indietracks...
