I've been in my first ever proper magazine, whoop! The publication in question being Amelia's Magazine (issue 10, the last one) which includes a four 'A's out of five review. Aceness. Real printed magazine, amazing. It's £12.99 an can be acquired from all good indie stores including Rough Trade an the like. Aside from my obvious bias towards this issue it's filled full brilliant, imaginative and informative work so get yourselves a copy. You can find out more at Amelia's website.Apologies about the website being down from the end of last month till very recently. Had a bit of a nightmare with hosting and domain people, darn. However, there is a new section where you can download some songs for free songs.
I've done a few interviews over the last month or so, two of which are online now. Thanks to Comfort Comes, There Goes The Fear, Tasty Zine and Dirty Sexy Music for letting me waffle on their websites. They're all great sites/blogs so please go give them a look if you have a few minutes. If you want to read about me attempting to be funny, articulate and self-deprecating (wow, new things for me I'm sure you'll agree) then go to the new press section and click on the relevant link.
In terms of news, I've been booking a few shows for the new year which will be great to get out and play again as I've missed it these couple of weeks. I've been writing which is coming, slowly. The new songs are going to be the step up in quality I've been striving for. As soon as I have some new MP3's to post up for you to hear, I'll let you know. I've gotta properly map out the next year of my life properly over the next few days but there will be a single of the song currently titled 'The Doctor' in the downloads part of the site in March. More details on that to follow but I've got some great ideas of how to make it quite special.
I'd like to say thanks to the people this year who have bought my record, given much needed advice, played me on the radio, done my artwork or contributed to the EP in some way, helped spread the word about me, done my mixing, stocked my EP, let me kip on their sofa and in general kept my chin up when I needed it. So to all of you, massive hugs. 2009 *should* be awesome: singles, album, touring, festivals and more terrible hangovers. With your help I've managed to drag myself from having nothing to...well...slightly more. There's at least five people in Aberdeen who like my EP and I never thought that would ever happen! I have some great people behind me and your support and encouragement is breathtaking at times.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I'm gonna try and make 2009 the year of the Trooper but it'll probably have to be Ox instead. Bloody Ox :(
